This has been a great year everyone and thank you so much for supporting Anime Club! I would like to take a moment to thank the Senior officers; Vincent Wong (Founder-sama!!!!!!), Eric Xu (Eric-chan!~), Desmond Cheng (Journalisms!!!), Enyi Liang, (our dear Treasurer) , and Mrs. Schramm (our lovely adviser, The Schramminator) for all their hard work, support and contribution.

Mrs. Schramm, thank you so much for taking us in, despite your busy schedule, when we had no place or adviser for Anime Club. We seriously thought it would have been the end because we didn’t have an adviser. You have really been a great adviser, teacher and teacher friend. You have an incredible personality and you will be miss and never forgotten. Your kindness will stay with the Anime Club forever. I wish you the best of luck in your future and may the odds be in your favor.

Vincent Wong, the founder and reviver of the Anime Club. Without you, Anime Club would not have existed. You are an awesomely wise friend who I know I can count on for advise and guidance for what would be best for the club. I know that you will be spreading your wisdom everywhere you go and your intellect will take you to your dream. Thank you so much for your help and guidance and good luck to your future.

Eric Xu, you are practically my assistant, you have helped me with so much this year from organizing events to keeping track of people. You are an amazing friend who never fails to make me laugh when the stress comes around. I don’t think I can describe in words what gratitude I have for your contribution to the club. I know that wherever you go, life will work out for you. Thank you for your help and effort and lame jokes that never fail to crack me up. Good luck to you and your future.

Desmond Cheng, you are our journalism guy, you give us the scoop about other clubs’ activities and when they are happening so that we can plan our own out of the way. You have supported us and made us laugh and you knew when to be a clown and when to be serious. I hope that life will treat you well and thank you for your contribution.

Enyi Liang, even though we had only met this year, I am glad that I was able to befriend you this year. You try so hard in everything that you do and that’s what makes it amazing, the timeless effort you put into your contribution to the Anime Club. I wish you good luck in your future and I know that with your effort, it will be beautiful.

Again, I thank you all for your hard work, I will miss you all dear friends and I hope you all the best. Keep in Touch and hope to hear from you soon. YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!~~~~ *^^*

And with today’s screening, we are officially done with our 3rd and 4th anime of 2012! We hope you enjoyed watching Inu x Boku SS and Another. However, this year isn’t quite over just yet. Although we won’t be screening another anime series (well… with luck we may have a little time left for an OVA or a movie), we still have one final event coming up.

Ever wondered whether you know more about anime than this dude who sits next to you? Or maybe you’d like to see how many fellow students are at your level? Our upcoming Anime Jeopardy Contest 2012 will let you do just that!

What: The Jeopardy Contest will put your knowledge of anime to the test with questions that range from easy to difficult, from standard to obscure. There will be lots of prizes to give out!

Who: Any Gabrielino student is welcome to participate, free of charge. However, signing-up is required, so visit our clubroom at B208 to sign up now!

When: May 24th (Thurs)

Sorry for the late post! Due to CST testings for this and next week, most of our screenings for these two weeks have been cancelled. Thus, our next screening will be on April 26th, Thursday.

We wish you guys luck on the tests!

EDIT 4/20/12: There’s no testing next Thursday, so we’ve moved the next screening date from May 1st to April 26th.

Due to a faculty meeting at lunch, Mrs. Schramm had to leave her room, so we couldn’t screen Another episode 6 today again. What a cursed show! However, we at the Anime Club will not back down against this calamity; the screening of Another episode 6 has been moved to tomorrow (3/09, Fri).

No curse is going to deter us from seeing Mei.

Every year, the folks at Yearbook takes a picture of each club on the campus. Ours is scheduled to be taken on March 6th (Tues), right before the screening. We have no restrictions on who wants to participate, so feel free to come and join in our photo! If you don’t want to be in the picture though, that’s fine too; simply stay in the clubroom and wait for the screening to start. Hope to see you all there!

Due to testing, Mrs. Schramm’s room won’t be open at lunch this Thursday. As such, our screening of Another episode 5 on March 1st (Thurs) has been cancelled. This just means that next Thursday, we will be screening episode 6 instead of episode 7. With luck though, maybe we can get an extra screening day to catch up!

Another is getting quite good. Mei is the cutest heroine of the season; you heard it here first.

Congratulations to the winner of our 1st annual Comic Contest, Allison Ly! She receives a sketchbook as a prize, and because she wishes not to publish the comic in Tongva Times, she will receive an additional alternative prize item. However, she has given us permission to scan and post her valentine-themed comic, titled “I Only Date Beautiful Girls“, here (click to enlarge):

Overall, the event was a success and we received a number of comics with some great artwork. A big thanks to all those who submitted a comic! We hope to bring out even more artists to participate and give away even better prizes next year, so look forward to it!

There’s an AP science meeting majigger that Mrs. Schramm needs to tend to on Thursday, so the screening of Another episode 2 has been moved to tomorrow (Feb. 1st, Wed.).

I hope everyone is enjoying our two Winter shows so far. We will be finishing them at around April, after which we shall see if we will screen another TV series, some OVAs, or maybe even some films!

Inu X Boku SS & Another have been chosen to be screened. These 2 anime have only been released in Japan for about 2 weeks. I can tell you both of these anime are really good. I have personally read the manga and I really enjoyed both of theses. Inu X Boku SS was a joy to read, while Another creeps me out but was still a very fascinating nevertheless. Starting next week:

Inu X Boku SS will be screened every Tuesday during lunch.

Another will be screened every Thursday during lunch.

Remember, you do NOT have to come to these screenings if you do not wish to. :3 Enjoy the anime!~~
